[This is a favorite question from Bible skeptics]. So just as the writer of a biography is not necessarily the one who conceived of the contents, so much so is the Bible written by inspired men of God, directed by the Holy Spirit and so its contents are of God. The Bible is very trustworthy. By reading the Bible with an open mind and heart, one can begin to understand how our creator desires a relationship of communion with us. God wants to communicate with us; and so he gave us his instructions and laws by which we should live. in righteousness and holiness We do not have a mysterious book that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. In his wisdom, God used men to write down what he is communicating to us, using their human techniques. So men wrote down the words and statements of the Bible but what they wrote is not simply of their own perception but rather, it is the inspired word of God. The Bible was written over a period of sixteen hundred years. Yet remarkably the narrative it gives, connects together as one single story, in one book.
The Bible teaches that it was not by the will of man. All scripture is by inspiration of God. Holy men of God were lead by the Holy Spirit. No other book in history has withstood the test of time as the Bible has. Still the it remains preserved it intact. The Bible today remains the best selling book ever. Whether one believes it or not, wants to read it or not, almost everyone wants a copy of it. Unique to the Bible are hundreds of prophecies predicted concerning world history that has been fulfilled. The Bible describes the one true God and His relationship with mankind throughout our history. Science proves the Bible is accurate. The Bible contains many scientific truth discovered by science centuries after the Bible was written. A few examples here:
- The Bible teaches that the earth hangs in space on nothing. Science discovers this centuries later.
- The earth is not flat but round. Science discovered centuries later.
- The Bible instructs that there should be quarantine in order to prevent the spreading of infectious or communicable disease. This was not known to science before millions of people died of diseases such as in: “The Black Death” during the 17th century due to failure to separate this sick from the healthy.
- From the Bible it is learned that: proper hygiene prevents the spread of disease. washing hands should be done in running water. This procedure was scientifically proven to be true and became standard procedure preventing the spread of diseases in the medical field and elsewhere
- Life health information is in the blood. Discovered later and now, a blood test became most important in health check up.
- Oceanography discovered just as the Bible mentioned: Paths in the sea. It was discovered that there is the warm and cold continental currents. This information is used in navigation to help cut ships traveling time.
- The Bible says that God made man from the dust of the ground. Scientist discovered that the human body is made up of at least 28 of the same trace elements found in the earth. *The Bible teaches that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Beginning-time. Heaven-space. Earth-matter. Light-energy.
- It was once thoughts that the Universe was eternal, however modern science has proven that idea to be wrong and so the Bible is correct that the universe was created. It came into being, a finite time ago.
- The Bible teaches that everything in the universe is a finished work of creation. In science the First law of thermodynamics proves this to be true. * The Bible forbids the consumption of certain creatures. It is scientifically proven that certain animals carry diseases harmful to human beings.
- The Bible declares that God is stretching out the heavens. Scientist once thoughts that the universe was either static or shrinking but have now discovered that the opposite is true and that the universe is actually expanding. This is described as a devastating blow to the previous scientific theory proving that the Bible has it right.
- The Bible teaches that light can be sent as speech. It has been discovered that radio waves and light waves are basically two forms of the same electromagnetic waves. This showed that radio waves are a form of light. By sending radio waves, lightning can be sent in the form of speech. Once again the Bible has it right.
- The Bible tells how our bodies can be naturally healed by being happy. Studies show that happiness and laughter is a major reducer of stress hormones, creating a balance in helping the body to fight diseases. Unhappiness and high stress, everyone would agree is therefore detrimental to one’s health.
- The Bible speaks of a giant (dinosaur like) behemoth animal creature created by God and that he, the creator could also destroy it. Archaeology have discovered very large bone fossils of creatures now extinct called dinosaurs.
- God gave Noah the precise measurements for building the Ark. Ship-building researchers have discovered that those are the most ideal dimensions for building ships that would maintain stability.
- The Bible teaches that there are Springs in the depth of the ocean. In recent years oceanographers I have discovered Springs in the depth of the ocean. Confirmation that the Bible is true.
Science confirms the Bible is true. Much of the events and people, described in the Bible have been archaeologically and historically confirmed. The authenticity of scripture is solidly confirmed. There is the Qumran cave findings of exact early copies the Old Testament. There are more than 24,000 manuscripts of the New Testament. Besides there are the extra biblical historical writings, attesting to the facts.
