In careful and prayerful reading of the Bible we find that the whole entire theme of the Bible is about Jesus. Many of the prophecies in the Bible are about him, most of which has already been fulfilled. The most famous is that of His coming into the world.
- “Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us.” Matthew 1:23.
- “Never a man spoke like this man.” John 7:46. The words of Jewish court officers who were sent to arrest Jesus but were instead amazed, astounded and impressed at the authority with which he spoke.
- In the Gospel of John, chapter one begins with one of the most unmistakable statement in the Bible: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
- The 2nd verse continues: “The same was in the beginning with God.” Speaking of another person with God.
- The 3rd verse: “All things were made by him.”
- The 10th verse: “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”
- 12th verse. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
- The 14th verse: “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The “Word,” here refers to Jesus as the Word of God.
This is telling us that Jesus has always existed as God, with God the Father, working together as one. In John 3:16, we learn that God sent his only begotten Son into the world and that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life. Jesus Christ on earth, was and is; God. Another powerful scripture verse sums this up for us ”
- And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1st Timothy 3:16. To save fallen mankind from the consequences of sin, God entered the world, took on human flesh when he revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ his Son. Jesus Christ was fully man, with a divine nature and so at the same time he was also fully God. As he went about preaching and teaching, **Jesus displayed an astounding great sense of divine authority. **He was uncompromising in his display of truth and righteousness. **He never committed a sin, **he showed remarkable love, compassion and great empathy towards people. **He wept in sadness for a friend. **He sat and ate with sinners. He did the same with the rich, the powerful and the religious elite. He did not hesitate to call out their sin and hypocrisy. **He went among the poorest and least regarded in society to feed, teach, touch, heal and deliver them.
- **The rich, the poor, the sick and healthy, all came from near and far to be healed, and delivered. ** Thousands gathered to see and hear him speak. From near and far they came to him to be set free from bondage, to see to hear, and to walk for the first time in their lives. In his compassion, Jesus declined to send away the hungry thousands who came from miles away to hear his teachings. With two small fish and a few small loaves, Jesus performed one of his greatest miracles. More than five thousand were fed and full, leaving much to spare. In this Jesus showed that he is the sustainer of the soul and also the body; taking care both our spiritual and physical needs.
- **Jesus spoke with authority never before heard from any person. He made the most astonishing and radical statements ever spoken by any man. **He performed the most amazing works of miracles. He showed that he had power over demonic forces as they screamed, shutter and obey at his presence. **In one of his most astonishing works of miracle, Jesus showed that he had power to call even the dead back to life.**He defied the laws of gravity when he walked on water and stood there to pull up one of his disciples from sinking under. **He showed that he is the master of nature and that nature itself, knew his voice and will obey.**Jesus spoke directly to a raging storm at sea, to “Be still.” The wind and the waves immediately recognized his voice and promptly obeyed him. As the scripture says: He, was in the beginning and all things, were created by him.
**Jesus referred to himself using the exact term God used for himself in his answer to a question from Moses saying: “I AM THAT I AM.” ** To his religious opposition, Jesus said: “Before Abraham was, I AM.” **Jesus consistently referred to himself in the messianic term: Son of Man, prophesied in Daniel 7:13-14. **He claimed to be the way to the Father, saying: “I am The way, The Truth and The Life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” **Jesus claimed to be the Bread of Life. That he was the Bread that came down from heaven. Showing that he, as the Word of God, had entered into human history, therefore we must feed upon the word of God in him. **Jesus claimed to be The Light of the world, The Vine, The Good Shepherd, The Door, The Resurrection and the Life.**He told his disciples that he was in The Farther, that The Father was in him and whomever had seen him, had seen The Father. **He forgave sins, was accused of blasphemy; the accusation was that he being a man, was making himself God.**He was then threatened with stoning. Still he never said I am not God. **Before and after his resurrection, Jesus received and accepted worship, an activity reserved for God alone. **He showed that he knew the thoughts of men, an ability attributed only to God. **To his disciples, he
revealed that legions of angels stood ready at his call, if he so desired. **As he prayed to his Father upon a mountain, Jesus allowed his chosen disciples, a glimpse of his glory when he was transfigured before their eyes as the voice of the Father spoke from heaven saying: THIS IS MY BELIEVED SON HEAR HIM.**Jesus Christ fulfilled his mission on earth when he was crucified and died on a cross. **He had divine authority but for the salvation of fallen man, he went to his death with humility and rose triumphantly.
**In all his claims and works of miracles that Jesus did, the most fascinating, far-reaching and radical is: that of his resurrection from the dead. **Before he was crucified Jesus claimed that after he was killed, in three days he would rise from the dead. **The evidence is: that is exactly what he did.**We understand now as he said: “I and the Father are one,” God The Father, raised Jesus from the dead. **After his resurrection, Jesus made postmortem appearances to individuals and large groups. **He appeared through closed doors as he sat down with his disciples for supper teaching and eating with them . In this he showed he was not a ghost and that his resurrection from the dead was real. **The Bible said: there were many other things Jesus did that the books of the world could not contain if they were all written. After his resurrection Jesus was seen by more than five hundred people before he was ascended into heaven. * *According to the scripture, Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
