To have salvation means to be saved from the righteous judgement (wrath) of God and to receive his gift of eternal life. This happens only through faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God, whom he sent into the world providing the way of salvation to all who believe in him. Each individual must personally acknowledge their need for God’s salvation and believe in the Son of God. If you have acknowledged that you are a sinner in need of God’s salvation; and have decided to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, you can be assured that he hears you as you call upon him in prayer. You can ask for his forgiveness from your sins; invite him into your heart and he will forgive your sins and save you.
It is important to know that you are not saved by any good deeds or works you have done. You can do nothing that makes you deserving of his salvation. Each of us are saved by the grace of God: his unmerited favor. It was Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins. He paid the cost of our redemption. Repentance and putting our faith and trust in him is the only requirement for receiving his salvation.
