What is Christianity?

Christianity is as a monotheistic religion (belief in the one supreme God) it is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The followers of Jesus Christ are called Christians. Christians believe in the one true God of the Bible, that the same Bible is the divinely inspired word of the God; and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Christianity teaches that He was God the Son who came to earth born of a virgin mother for the purpose of becoming a sacrifice for sin. He died on a cross to save humanity from the consequences of sin. Christians believe that in order to be saved from sin one must believe in Jesus Christ, repent-turn from sin, accept him as Lord and establish a personal relationship with him through faith, that he is Lord and Savior their life. (see scripture) acts 11:26; 26-28; 1st Peter 4:6.
