Did Jesus claim to be God?

FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON;  Jesus Christ came into the world being The Son of God Born of a virgin. This alone shows who he is. His consistent reference to himself in the messianic term; The Son of Man: is clearly claiming his deity as God. Daniel 7:13-14 gives a vivid description of The Son of Man. The prophet Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would be called Emmanuel: meaning God with us. The scripture teaches in 1st Timothy 3:16. Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest In the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. The Bible also teaches that Jesus is the image of God.

The Bible has not shown Jesus uttering the specific words: I am God. He absolutely did claim his deity as being God in many ways more powerful than in three words. In the Book of John Jesus made seven powerful and revealing I AM statements claiming his divine authority: * “I AM the Bread of life”(John.6:35) * “I AM the Light of the world” (John.8:12) * “I AM the door”(John.10:17) * I AM the Good Shepherd (John.10:11,14) * I am the Resurrection and the Life (John.11:25) * I AM the way, the Truth, and the Life (John.14:6) * I AM the True Vine (John.15:1) His statements, claims and the things he did, showed his deity and that he did claim to be God. Jesus not only claimed to be God he demonstrated that he is God. Jesus spoke directly but often in parables.

So Jesus refereed to himself as The Son of Man, He also forgave sins. The Jewish religious leaders who knew the Old Testament scriptures, they saw what he did, they heard his statements and claims and they were incensed. This showed that they understood exactly what he meant. Jesus never backed away from statements he made. In fact as mentioned in Scripture he spoke with great authority never before heard from any man. ***On several occasions during his earthly ministry, Jesus was worshiped. He never refused or corrected those who did worship Him. Instead he accepted their worship. In one remarkable moment of someone worshiping Jesus. A woman called Mary poured out a very expensive bottle of perfume on Jesus as he sat teaching. She then proceeded to wipe his feet with her hair. Some objected thinking that it was a waste of money but Jesus rebuked that thought and accepted her worship.

A Roman Centurion had a sick servant at home and wanted Jesus to heal his servant. Recognizing that he was in the presence of someone who was not just another man, he said to Jesus: I am not worthy for you to come into my house but just say the word and my servant will be healed. Jesus commented on this man’s remarkable faith in him and his servant was immediately healed. (see scripture) John 14:6, John 6:35, John 6:38, 6:38, 6:41, John 8:12, John 10:7, 11,14, John 11:25, John 14:6, John 15:1, Mark 2:7, Mark 2:10, Luke 5:21;24, Matthew 9:6, Luke 24:52, Matthew 28:17, Matthew 28:9, Luke 19:34, Matthew 2:11, Matthew 14:26, Luke 7:47-48, Luke 5:20, John 16:28, John 14:10, John 16:15, John 12:3, 1st Timothy 3:16.
